Since its opening in
1973, Libreria dell'Automobile has been located at Corso Venezia 45, Milan, in
the prestigious building of the Automobile Club d'Italia. Today it is the most
specialised and refined bookstore of its kind in Europe and undoubtedly ranks
near the top world-wide for the number of titles it offers - approx. 10,000 -
and for the warm yet professional atmosphere that it affords the visitor.
Customers can find
books and videos on makes of cars and motorcycles, volumes on
motoring technology, technical repair and
maintenance manuals, books on off-road and
military vehicles, racing cars and drivers and yearbooks, in addition to
extensive specific documentation on trucks, vans and buses, tractors,
model-making, fire-fighting and rescue vehicles, coach-builders and designers. Plus posters,
prints, magazines, calendars, car badges and personal pins from all over the
world.
The Libreria also
offers practical aids for use
when travelling in any part of the world: guidebooks, maps, and atlases of all
kinds and for every country. The store is a branch of the Touring Club
Italiano.
A new highlight is the Collector’s Corner, which
offers rare articles, from out-of-print volumes to exclusive numbered lithographs.
In addition, Mille Miglia enthusiasts
can buy reproductions of vintage photographs from the Sorlini Archive, a large
collection of pictures by the official photographer of the world-famous race
from 1947-1957.
