Renata Nosetto tells in this biography the life and experiences of her husband, Roberto Nosetto, a prominent figure in the world of Formula 1 and motorcycle Grand Prix.
Born in Turin on September 11, 1942, Roberto attended the Liceo Massimo d’Azeglio, but it is the passion for racing – born to attend the 1952 Valentino Grand Prix – that marks his destiny. He decides to become an engineer and work for Enzo Ferrari.
On May 30, 1968, he graduated from the Polytechnic of Turin with a thesis on the Ferrari Redhead engine. From June 1969 to November 1976, Ferrari sent him to the CSAI in Milan and the Autodromo in Monza.
In 1977 he was World Champion with Ferrari and Niki Lauda, and then became director of the Fiorano track.
From 1979 to 1990 he directed the Dino Ferrari racetrome in Imola. From 1989 to 1991 he was the promoter of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps) and Arizona (Phoenix).
In 1993 he began his activity in the World Motorcycle Championship as Race Director, a position he held until 1999, and then moved to the Superbike World Championship, becoming head of the SBK office in London at Octagon Motorsport.
In 2004 he retired to private life.
An extraordinary career, told with affection and precision by those who have been by his side all his life.
