Product description
Roberto Gallina: the pilot, the team manager, the technical-designer, the builder. A man who has dedicated much of his life to the world of motorcycles, in all its expressions: from the purest agonism to technical innovation.
Italian champion and official driver for Motobi, Paton and Benelli, Gallina then creates his own team, which since 1978 manages the official Suzukis in the race. As a team manager he won two consecutive world titles in the 500th class, thanks to Marco Lucchinelli (1981) and Franco Uncini (1982). Other noteworthy results include: Virginio Ferrari’s 2nd place in 1979, Lucchinelli’s 3rd place in 1980 and Graziano Rossi’s 5th place in the same year.
Its great technical capacity leads it to devise innovative and functional solutions: from the famous parabolic radiator to the unprecedented power steering for the use of wider tires. It also includes the intuition at the base of the 16″ front wheel, developed in collaboration with Michelin, and the first air-box prototypes on motorcycles.
In the design and construction of motorcycles, he used the collaboration of Massimo Tamburini.
Finally, we must not forget his commitment to the preservation of the technical and historical heritage represented by the Agusta competition MVs, restored and curated in the collection of the American lawyer Robert Iannucci.
