MILLE MIGLIA IMMAGINI DI UNA CORSA/ A RACE IN PICTURES - COPIA FIRMATA DALL’AUTORE! / SIGNED COPY BY THE AUTHOR!

For 30 years from 1927 until 1957 the real Mille Miglia was the “race of excellence”. A unique event of over 1,600 kilometres across Italy, the stars of which were some of the world’s greatest car manufacturers, among them Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Ferrari, Jaguar and Aston Martin. And their cars were driven, naturally, by some of the equally great champions of the time, like Tazio Nuvolari, Achille Varzi, through to Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss as well as Alberto Ascari, Clemente Biondetti, Piero Taruffi and many others. Count Giannino Marzotto won the race twice in Ferraris in 1950 and 1953 and said the Mille Miglia was “a synthesis of dynamism, freedom, challenge, courage and calculation”. The story, or better the stories, of that legendary race live again in this book, which tells the tales of the classic “Bresciana”, first of all through hundreds of pictures, most of them unpublished and coming from the Novafoto-Sorlini Archive, an important collection featuring the shots taken by the official race photographer Alberto Sorlini, between 1947 and 1957. The text has been written by Leonardo Acerbi, who also wrote “Mille Miglia Story 1927-1957”.

NUVOLARI: IL ROMBO DEL CIGNO - COPIA FIRMATA DALL’AUTORE / SIGNED COPY BY THE AUTHOR!

Many pages have been written about the evergreen Tazio Nuvolari and his legend. But until now there has been no book that looks specifically at the final years of the Flying Mantuan’s victorious and dramatic career. In 1947 and 1948, he was the undisputed king of the Mille Miglia, driving a Cisitalia and a Ferrari. By this time physically and morally tormented by the premature death of his two young sons, the old champion was still able to impose his unquestioned class on two memorable races. This riveting episode in the history of motor racing is told in a book by Mario Donnini, renowned motor racing journalist, who restored to its original splendour the bonnet lost by Nuvolari during the 1948 Mille Miglia after its successful recovery. This important reanimation was the pretext on the basis of which to tell of these epic deeds during those races through a thrilling text, numerous photographs and documents of the period.

SCUDERIA MEDIOLANUM: TRA MEMORIA E PRESENTE - COPIA FIRMATA DALL’AUTORE! / SIGNED COPY BY THE AUTHOR!

The story of Mediolanum is, without doubt, one of motor racing in other times. Of a Milan scuderia founded in 1955 and energised by the enthusiasm of partners from a number of Lombardy motor clubs, among them the Ambrosiana and the Madunina. This book paints a picture of large and small teams, who raced on roads and circuits every Sunday. They entered promising young drivers as well as established champions at the wheel of simple but tuned cars, grand tourers and sports cars: Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprints, TZs and TZ2s, the Porsche 356 and Ferrari 250 GTO/64 and 250 LM – Mediolanum raced them all. The first section of the book contains fascinatingly rare photographs, supported by testimony from publications of the period and the recollections of the protagonists. The second is devoted to the activities of “Mediolanum Storica”, which still races the same fabulous evergreen cars today - cars that are immortalised in this publication’s spectacular colour pictures.

As they have waited, they have always given themselves advance popularity, fame, glory and, perhaps, among the excesses, pathetic certainties and even madness. They are the great vocations that have remained sterile, an unexplored, unknown world because nobody has ever dared to write about an inexistent career, populated by autographs never signed, tracks never raced on, popularity never experienced and champions loved but never met. These are the myriad of emotions, dreams and state of mind that Cesare De Agostini, who has never been a racing driver, tries to transmit to his readers with that unmistakable prose of his.

SENNA & IMOLA Una storia nella storia/A story within a story - COPIA FIRMATA DALL’AUTORE! / SIGNED COPY BY THE AUTHOR!

The first title in a series born of collaboration between Giorgio Nada Editore and the Imola Autodrome, which will see a series of books appear over time, devoted to the Italian track. This bi-lingual book has as the object the story of Ayrton at Imola, a circuit at which the Brazilian competed from 1984 to 1994, winning on three occasions and starting from pole eight times. To bring to life a work that really is new, the author has interviewed a racing driver, a journalist or a well-known personality covering each year in which Ayrton competed in the Imola GP from 1984 to 1994, people who knew Senna in a specific year’s race. In order of appearance in the book, those who talk about Ayrton are:

  • 1984 – Johnny Cecotto, his teammate at Toleman

  • 1985 – Angelo Parrilla, owner of the DAP kart company, the first with which Ayrton raced

  • 1986 – Gian Carlo Minardi, the Formula 1 team manager
1987 – Alberto Sabbatini, the current editor of Autosprint

  • 1988 – Pino Allievi – journalist and long-standing writer for Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport
1989 – Cesare Maria Mannucci, the widely experienced motor sport journalist

  • 1990 – Pierluigi Martini, racing driver

  • 1991 – Carlo Cavicchi, ex-editor of Autosprint
1992 – Giorgio Serra alias “Matitaccia”, the illustrator
1993

  • – Alessandro Zanardi, racing driver
1994 – Mario Poltronieri, the historic voice of Formula 1 for Italian broadcaster RAI.

The volume closes with a section on the three days there from 1-3 May 2014 that took place to mark the 20th anniversary of Ayrton’s death, commemorated on the Imola track.

SOTTO IL SEGNO DEI RALLY - STORIE DI PILOTI ITALIANI 1960-1979 - COPIA FIRMATA DALL’AUTORE! / SIGNED COPY BY THE AUTHOR!

Faces, lives, stories that come together in one unique passion: rallying. Like a film, this book attempts to stop the most significant moments in the lives of a number of Italian drivers who became part of the speciality’s history between the ‘50s and the end of the ‘70s. Not biographies, but real slices of their lives, told by people who are great sportsmen and human beings; those who left an important mark on the sport, in some cases long forgotten. Villoresi, Cella, Patria, Cavallari, Giunti, Ceccato, Barbasio, Carello, Pinto, De Adamich, Ballestrieri, Pregliasco, Pianta, Montezemolo, Tony Fassina, Verini, right up to the man who became a legend, the very symbol of rallying itself, Sandro Munari. Those are just some of the names in this real anthology, a work that brings together the feats of 60 stars who left their indelible mark on the history of rallying.
Gianti Simoni, the long time navigator of Arnaldo Cavallari, collaborated on the book.
The story will continue with a book to be published in 2014, featuring other Italian drivers who competed from the ‘80s until today among whom there will be Vudafieri, Zanussi, Bettega, Tabaton, Tognana and Miki Biasion.

TEMERARI: Ricordi da corsa dei "Cavalieri del rischio" - COPIA FIRMATA DA ANDREA DE ADAMICH + DANILO CASTELLARIN! / SIGNED COPY BY ANDREA DE ADAMICH + DANILO CASTELLARIN!

    Foreword by Mauro Forghieri

Today, not only the drivers, racing cars, circuits, designers and technology have changed, the whole world has. But if you have just a little nostalgia for what once was, for that which you’ve experienced or even just heard people talk about, read ‘Temerari’ (The Daring), a nostalgic book devoted to the drivers and protagonists of the races of 1950-1980. People who raced for the sheer pleasure of it, for a win if they were really lucky, or maybe a record, a fastest lap time or an overtaking manoeuvre, which could sometimes be more important than a world title. People who looked death squarely in the face, because that’s what racing was like 30 years ago – even if many of them pretended not to know it. For the first time, this book publishes 60 interviews with Italian and foreign drivers whose destinies crossed at the time, people who survived the riskiest races of the 20th century.

TINO BRAMBILLA: Mi è sempre piaciuto vincere - COPIA FIRMATA DA TINO BRAMBILLA E WALTER CONSONNI! / SIGNED COPY BY TINO BRAMBILLA E WALTER CONSONNI!

This book tells the story of the intense life of a racing man, one of non-stop work. A life on two and four wheels, on the track and in the garage, the same hands that manipulating steering wheels and tools after having tuned connecting rods and pistons. A decades long story that sees our hero, Ernesto Brambilla, aka Tino, be born and living his life at Monza, forever the capital of motor racing. He is the man who has been a faithful ambassador to the sport since he was little more than a lad, challenging footpaths and straw bales throughout Italy, which was in full renaissance. Once he had become an adult, he challenged destiny and rivals in dozens of races, from those in “his” National Autodrome and on to those at which he competed in faraway places, like Buenos Aires,  with triumphs at Hockenheim and in the terrible Tourist Trophy. In this book, his story is told, peppered with previously unpublished photographs, through a “particular” interview, a discussion between people he has always known. The author, Walter Consonni, was born and raised amid the legend of the Brambilla brothers. Like his brother Peo, he was also a student of Tino’s and lived the unique human and sporting dramas from his home courtyard in the centre of Monza. Races, tests, titles, tragedies. MV Augusta and Ferrari, the ascent of his brother Vittorio. His retirement from the track, but not from his exuberances. But there is a lot more in this book, in which a man who partially reached the finish line of the ‘80s, looks back and relives with pleasure and serenity a unique era. One in which racing often walked hand-in-hand with death in the quest to win.
